Wanna Pizookie? What’s a Pizookie? Well its a large, right out of the oven, cookie with ice cream on top- from BJ’s restaurant. It melts in your mouth. soo.. I made my own version. Thanks to Martha Stewart and my own tweaks, I made one thats here to stay!

Its more than enough for 2 people so this would be something really good for a movie night or at least for a larger crowd.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (about 9 ounces) mixed milk- and semisweet chocolate chips
  • a dash of cinnamon
  • mini M&Ms on top. I think pecans would be great as well.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream butter and sugars until mixture is light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add egg and vanilla; mix until they are fully incorporated. Add flour mixture, and beat until just combined. Stir in chocolate chips.
  • It will seem drier than other cookie dough recipes, I blame that on the 1 egg rather than 2. Use your hands to work if needed.
  • Transfer dough to a 10-inch ovenproof skillet (I used a cake pan with parchment on the bottom), and press to flatten, covering bottom of pan. Bake until edges are brown and top is golden, 40 to 45 minutes (42 mins for me). Don’t overbake; it will continue to cook a few minutes out of the oven. Transfer to a wire rack to cool, 15 to 20 minutes. Cut into 8 wedges. Serve warm; top each wedge with a scoop of ice cream and some caramel sauce.

Well I figure I should let everyone know what Ty has been up to within the past month of August..

He got the newer game called “call of duty 4” on xbox 360. You can connect it to the internet while playing on the tv. That way you can play with your friends from different places. The other day he told me that one night he’s going to play with the platoon. I came home from work with him like this…

For the past few weeks, Ty was put on the color guard for the Change of Command ceremony. He had the position of holding the american flag. This is him with the others practicing. The ceremony went well and he was happy that its over… his arms can finally take a break

Since the beginning of the month Ty has been taking Parkour lessons at a local gym. The classes are on sunday mornings for about 3 hours. He’s loving it and catching on quicker than people usually do. This is something he wanted to try years ago. He is doing a Reverse Dash then Cong and the Dash. He makes it look easy.

I have used two phones throughout my whole cell phone life. Both were free. I’ve had my flip phone for 5 years. Well as of today I am no longer with Verizon but now an AT&T user. And I got a new fancy phone out of it. Good news is I can keep my same phone number. Meet my new addition:

God answers prayers! it’s crazy to see it before your eyes. I got a new job. =)

Today I went back to the west side of El Paso which is about 20-30 min away from home. i went to Celebrations: Cupcakes and Cookies By T and Cookies by design. Both at first said that will think about it and possibly call me in the future for the holidays. Well cookies by design called me 2 hours after I met with them and gave me the job. They want to first start me off in sales because they cross train everyone and then piping on cookies, which will be my main job. I start in september and I am excited. But at the same time I actually really really wanted the job at the cupcake place. It is super cute, the cupcakes are big and good. They also have a florist second so it smells great. Plus I had to try their Pink Lemonade Cupcake(below). Ty and I like it. Sooo if they do not call me I think I’ll still be happy at the cookie shop.

    My Frustration

This is a blog to help keep in touch with family and update on our lives.. can that include weaknesses?

I have been having a problem of complaining lately. Its one of those situations where I support my husband and this army lifestyle.. but it can be so hard to adjust to a new state and city where I feel it doesn’t match me at all.

Today I had a spontaneous interview with the Hilton Hotel Chef. It went fine and the ending result is if I want the job there will be no baking or pastries, just a high intense small kitchen cooking food that I have no experience in. You might think why not get that experience? I didn’t go through the culinary program, I went through the pastry and baking. I want to give that time, money, and energy and put it to use and learn more. We agreed that I’d call him if I change my mind.

There are other hotels that I’m stopping by tomorrow and possibly the Pastry Chef Cafe. That cafe is very far away from home and I got so upset when I, once again, got lost coming back home. I didn’t take one turn and ended up in the middle of no where with a casino on the left of me. A lot of emotions went through me. I got so frustrated and discouraged cause I have been here for 3 months and yet I’m reacting like I’ve been here for a week. Plus it’s hard to realize that what I want to do for a living is not important out here. I’m not giving up or closing any doors, I’m just having a moment of weakness.

Ty and I are very grateful that we are stable. Ty tells me that a lot of soldiers and their wives are in serious debt and bank accounts are barely there. It’s blamed on poor choices and whatever be their personal lives. Hearing that couples live in pay check to pay check is common. So no I shouldn’t complain and just continue pushing forward.

Please pray for me. I am struggling with adjusting and a culture shock on our own american soil. And a job to fit to my needs and come home feeling proud of myself. This is my latest inspiration is from a new blog that I found Le Cupcake.

“Because of your great compassion you did not abandon them in the desert. By day the pillar of cloud did not cease to guide them on their path, nor the pillar of fire by night to shine on the way they were to take. You \gave your good Spirit to instruct them. You did not withhold your manna from their mouths, and you gave them water for their thirst. For forty years you sustained them in the desert; they lacked nothing, their clothes did not wear out nor did their feet become swollen.”

Went to Balboa beach. We tried to have a bon fire and got their early to get pit but the entire world was at the beach so that was a no go. so a four man bicycle was our next idea and it was a blast!

Ate all my favorite foods I can’t get in El Paso

over all I hung out with friends all day long and night and it was a great, great trip. But I am very happy to see Ty and tonight we are going on a date night and finally! seeing the new Batman movie.

Looking forward to seeing dad’s pics from his trip
